Civics Bee 2025
The Plymouth Area League of Women Voters hosted a Civics Bee for 8th grade students from Plymouth South Middle School and Plymouth Community Intermediate School on May 27 and 29, respectively. The events were coordinated by the Plymouth Public Schools Social Studies Coordinator, Katelyn Fitzgerald.
In each civics class all middle school students took the US Citizenship test. The 5 highest scorers in each class were our contestants. All together, 125 students participated.
Civics Bees are designed to increase civic engagement and government knowledge. Students did a fantastic job working together in teams to test their overall knowledge of federal, state and local government, including questions about the Pilgrims. Each student received a pocket Constitution for participating.
