State Elections Fall 2022

The State Election Primary is September 6. The State Election is November 8.

On Ballot: Representative in Congress, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Auditor, Governor’s Council, State Senator, State Representative, District Attorney, Sheriff, County Commissioner.

Mail-In Ballots

The VOTES act of 2022 provides for no-excuse absentee ballots in all elections. All registered voters in Massachusetts should have received a card in the mail to request an absentee ballot.

If you did not receive the card, you can obtain an application at the Town Clerk’s office, by calling the Town Clerk’s office at 508-747-1620 X10233, or  download it from the Massachusetts Sec of State’s website.  The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot is 4 days before the election, August 29 for the State Primary and November 1 for the State Election.

You can return your mail-in  or absentee ballot application in any of the following ways:

  • In person, at the Town Clerk’s office
  • In the ballot drop box outside of Town Hall
  • Mail it to Town Clerk’s Office, 26 Court Street, Plymouth MA 02360
  • FAX to (508)830-4116
  • Email to ballots@Plymouth-MA.gov

All applications must be signed by the voter.

Ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office, hand-delivered or by mail, and will not be accepted at the polling location. Hand delivered ballots must be returned by the voter or a family or household member by the close of polls on Election Day.
